I found something new! You know how most dog treats are made of what looks like compacted sawdust and even though the box says they have vitamins and minerals, the dogs just seem to gain weight. Go! Natural is not only natural as the name implies, it includes fruits and vegetables which are missing from most organic products. Some treats have apples, cheese, turkey, and chicken; others have carrots, butter, milk and molasses. No more sawdust in this house!

If you’re a grocery store generic dog food buyer and will not stray, you should think about adding a little something to boost your dog’s nutrition. We heard about Yotta Pet Products and love the supplement that works for our dog’s skin, coat, bones, teeth. A great benefit is that it’s a natural way to help with arthritis and creaky bones in older dogs. Lots of people take an extra Omega-3 and Omega-6 just for these purposes. It’s an easy way to see results our dogs coat and energy.

If you train retrievers you know how important bumpers are. This is not something to be taken lightly. There are a million kinds out there that all look the same, bland canvas or orange bumps. I just found Katie’s Bumpers that are made out of fire hose so think of the durability. Also, they come in primary colors so you can see them in the water, on the ground, or in the snow. Is that great or what? I see year-round training.

Sometimes it’s difficult to find a good toy for your dog. You may have a power chewer or one obsessed with retrieving. Even small dogs need different toys from large ones. We found My Good Dog toys are really innovative and different. They have balls with ropes, tough bones and discs that are colorful and durable. We really like that they last so long because pets get attached to their favorites and love the repetition of games.

We have done a lot of reading on dogs and tried to figure out why they act the way they do. If you go back to the basics of their pack mentality and habits from years ago, you can understand a lot. This also got us thinking about their food and what their needs really are. Most outstanding is that they are carnivores and their systems need pure and organic dog foods. Luckily we discovered Timberwolf Organics that is based on meats with nutrient rich herbs and grains added just like in the wild.
